Parents as Teachers (P.A.T.) is a free and fun program, designed to give parents an understanding of how young children grow and learn during the most important first years of life, an age when more is learned than any other time in a child’s life. P.A.T. promotes the optimal early development, learning and health of young children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers. We provide high quality visits for families with fun, engaging, and developmentally focused activities. At every visit the family receives a free book. Your visit can be in your home or in our beautiful P.A.T. room at the Early Childhood Center.
If you are expecting or have a child under the age of 5, this is a beneficial program the Lebanon R-3 School District offers to your family. P.A.T. can assist parents in being the best first teachers for their child. Along with the age appropriate developmental milestones, community support information, P.A.T. provides individualized lessons, engaging activity ideas, and developmental screenings. Anyone with a child prenatal through 5 years old who lives in the Lebanon or Gasconade school districts is eligible for P.A.T. visits. P.A.T. helps parents to understand early development and critical parenting skills. We also offer monthly playgroups, family evening events, and a teen parenting program. You can look for a P.A.T. booth set up to give away free books at many community events.
